Here’s a little tid-bit to tell you about how I work:
Last week I met with woman and I could tell that she really appreciated the aliveness of our session. She told me she was tired of the same old questions she’d heard before in other settings, but these were different. She jumped at the enticing questions that I put before her, telling me that they really got at what was important to her and helped her look at things in a different light. Nudging her to look in these new places opened up a spaciousness which we both savored. Later she told me this conversation was a turning point for her. She felt like someone had really “gotten her.” Having someone witness her story without imposing any “shoulds” or “oughts” helped her see the integrity of her thoughts and pay attention to what was meaningful to her. We were able to focus on the crux of the matter and she shared with me that things really started to shift for her after this meeting. She appreciated the creativity, spontaneity, and fluidity of the conversation as well as the “umph” and gusto that took her to a place of feeling understood and able to make changes in her life.
